Proofread, Proofread, Proofread!

This means you, Linda (and yes, everyone else, too). Okay, this will be brief – I promise. I was just re-reading what I’ve posted so far, and found errors. I am sure there are more than I found in this sitting, butĀ (insert proper expletive here), I know better. I am taking this opportunity to share with you a few things.

    1. No one writes perfectly, so we proofread, we edit, we fix. It is a constant process.
    2. One way to proofread is to read what you’ve written out loud. Your tongue will trip over awkward parts. When you’ve tripped, take a closer look – it is either awkwardly worded, or there is a grammatical hiccup. I promise this works.
    3. Don’t trust grammar checking, or spell checkingĀ features in word processing applications too heavily. They can be handy in some cases, but if you are not careful – it can actually mess you up.

Have a good night.

Linda
