Hope is not something that can be plucked out of the air, or found on the floor like a shiny, copper penny. Hope comes from people, people who lead with compassion, common sense, and awareness. People who work and fight for the common good with little thought to personal or financial gain. Hope comes from being able to believe that the people in authority: parents, teachers, friends, colleagues, and officials, have our best interests at heart. That ability builds faith. Faith breeds hope.

I sometimes lose hope, especially seeing all the atrocious things the world has come to, but this post has reminded me to look to those that gives us hope despite all the things worth despairing for. “Hope comes from people, people who lead with compassion, common sense, and awareness. People who work and fight for the common good.” ~ We need to look to these people. Thanks for the reminder!

You’re welcome. I too lose hope, and that sense of hopelessness is where this came from. I still feel it, but it lessens when I see high school students in Florida standing up for what’s right π

The younger ones tend to have more hope than we do, I think. They often don’t know they inspire us that way. π
